Eyak Lake Skaters’ Cabin Permanently Closing July 31, 2025
The Eyak Lake Skaters’ Cabin will be permanently closed starting July 31, 2025. The cabin is unsafe due to severe dry rot and other structural problems. Because of this, the City of Cordova must close it for everyone’s safety. The City is exploring options for the cabin’s replacement and appreciates the community’s understanding during this period.
The City of Cordova is collaborating with Patronicity to facilitate the decommissioning and rebuilding of Skaters’ Cabin. Community support is crucial to this effort. Donations can be made online at patronicity.com/skaterscabin, by mailing a check to City of Cordova – Parks and Rec, P.O. Box 364, Cordova, AK 99574, or by dropping off donations at the City Office or Bidarki Recreation Center. For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (907) 424-7282.
We thank the community for its continued support and look forward to revitalizing this beloved local resource.
