The Cordova Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) has 2 Fire Stations to cover our 72 square mile service area. Led by Fire Chief Mike Hicks and Deputy Fire Chief Paul Trumblee, between 20-30 volunteer firefighters and medics work directly with the City’s Fire Marshall and a City-employed firefighter/medic to provide 24/7 Fire and Ambulance service to the community. CVFD teams include Rescue Company 1 led by Capt. Micah Renfeldt, Engine 3 led by Capt. Stephen Phillips, Medic 7 and Medic 8 Led by Capt. Andrea Whitcomb & Engine 14, Tanker 9 and Harbor 10.

The Fire Department structure falls under City Code Title 3 Chapter 3.20.0

CVFD meets every Thursday night at 7:30 pm in the Firehall and active members regularly attend ongoing training and drills.
