The Laborer/Maintenance Worker I or II assists with the maintenance of the City’s recreation facilities and parks.

CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME, HOURLY, OVERTIME ELIGIBLE, IBEW BARGAINING UNIT

STARTING SALARY: $20.76 – $25.29 PER HOUR, DOE

HOURS: 40 HOURS PER WEEK MON-FRI, 0700 – 1500; OCCAISONAL EVENING AND WEEKEND HOURS ARE REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or GED certificate, valid driver’s license, Certified Pool Operator (or must obtain within 6 months) and First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire).

DUTIES:

  • Installs and maintains permanent and temporary structures.
  • Performs grounds maintenance and landscaping.
  • Maintains, manages and repairs swimming pool building and equipment.
  • Maintains, inspects and cleans public restrooms, shelters/cabins, picnic sites, athletic fields, trails and other facilities
  • Installs, maintains and repairs playground equipment.
  • Remove litter and debris from roadways, parks, trails and facilities.
  • Conducts sampling duties in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Clears ice and snow from streets, parking lots and sidewalks to ensure safety.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties, building and grounds maintenance.
