In order to have clean, safe and healthy water the city of Cordova water department will be performing essential periodic maintenance on the Meals water reservoir from 10/3/22 to 10/14/22.
Throughout this period, water crew will be cleaning the reservoir. This process will involve the removal of sediments and debris from the bottom of the lake.
During this time periods, there are motor vehicles and other equipment hauling materials up and down the reservoir access road.
As a precaution we would ask the public to:
- Observe safety measures while hiking (between 8am to 4pm on the dates mentioned above).
- Avoid going into the empty reservoir with animals to prevent water contamination.
