State Identification Card

An Alaska Identification Card is a convenient and reliable form of photo ID for residents who don’t drive, don’t need a driver’s license, or who want an ID card separate from their driver’s license.

State ID verifies your identity for:

  • Opening a Bank Account
  • Accessing Government Services
  • Picking up Prescriptions
  • Age-restricted Purchases.

The card is easy to carry, widely accepted within the state, and provides a secure way to prove who you are without the responsibilities or requirements of holding a driver’s license or REAL ID.

REAL ID verifies your identity for:

  • domestic air travel
  • entering nuclear facilities
  • entering federal buildings
  • accessing military bases where identification is required

Choosing a REAL ID card provides added convenience and peace of mind, ensuring your identification will continue to be accepted for federal purposes while still serving all the everyday uses of a standard state ID.
